Dear Colleagues,

 

During the last decades already six International Symposia on Structure and Function of Roots had been organized by Slovak scientists oriented at root research. The last three of them took place in the marvellous High Tatra region. We are announcing the seventh International symposium on Structure and Function of Roots which will be held in the picturesque High Tatra Mountains of Slovakia between September 5th and 9th, 2011.

 

The topics of the symposium will include:

 

- Emerging technologies in root biology

 

- Root anatomy and morphology

 

- Root growth and development

 

- Uptake and translocation of essential and beneficial elements

 

- Environment and roots

 

 

The meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Botany,  Slovak Academy of Sciences (IB), Institute of Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences (IC), Department of Plant Physiology, Comenius University in Bratislava (DPP), and Slovak Botanical Society SAS (SBS) in the High Tatras.

 

We expect the participants to arrive on Sunday, September 4th, 2011. The scientific sessions will start on Monday, September 05, and end on Friday at noon, September 09. A field trip is planned for Wednesday, September 07, 2011.
